Material
|
RS has a core consisting of a tanged sheet of galvanized steel. A soft
material compound containing organic
and inorganic fibers, inorganic fillers, and high-grade elastomer binders is pressed onto both sides of the core.

Properties
|
RS exhibits very high mechanical strength plus very high resistance to
temperature and creep, yet still conforms well to sealing surfaces.
The
material is resistant to oils, fuels, and mixtures of water and antifreeze or
corrosion inhibitors.
|
Application
|
For cylinder head gaskets in standard IC engines, and
other sealed joints subjected to high mechanical and thermal stress, e.g. intake
and exhaust manifolds, transmission flanges, and high-pressure pumps.
|
Surfaces
|
For special applications, individual coatings applied over the full or partial surface or as beads are available. The coating materials used depend on
the service requirements.
